PE TAB-12
PE TAB-12 is an oral, OTC medication designed to relieve nasal congestion due to colds, influenza, or acute bronchitis. DM TAB-12 is formulated in a new, solid dosage form to create a tablet that improves improve portability versus messy liquids and improves dosing accuracy. DM TAB-12 is non-narcotic and non-sedating.
PE TAB 12’s active ingredient, phenylephrine, is widely available as an immediate release drug but no 12 hour formulations.
Currently, there are no solid oral dosage forms of 12 hour phenylephrine products available in the United States. PE TAB-12 would be the first and only tablet for of phenylephrine in a long acting, twice a day formulation.
Unlike pseudoephedrine which is only available behind the counter, PE TAB-12 would be available without a prescription and would not be behind the counter
Market research shows that consumers have considerable interest in tablet forms of cough/cold products because they are is easier to take to work, school or anywhere out of the home. Liquids are heavy and need a teaspoon for accurate dosing.
Tablets are more discrete, in comparison to liquids.
